Did mostly cover tunes. They released at least one single with a possible appearance by Hughes, that is, "Sadie". It's somewhat uncertain though if he actually sings anything, but he may have played bass. Whether or not Hughes appears on the other singles, I don't know. Some say it's seems unlikely.

Touring in the southern parts of the States turned out to be the most successful. They went back to UK in December 1971.

Deep Purple Mk III
People involved Ritchie Blackmore (gtr); David Coverdale (vcl); Glenn Hughes (bss/vcl); Jon Lord (kbr); Ian Paice (drm).
Due to some contractual problems with Hughes's previous record company, he is taken on as a secret member for a couple of months. Neither is he credited for his writing contributions to Burn (1974). On the following Stormbringer (1974) he gets full credit, though.
Hughes guested on Bolin's first solo album Teaser; he is not credited for any contributions though he is thanked. However, he definitely does back-up vocals at the end of "Dreamer" clearly audible and recognizable.
People involved Tommy Bolin (gtr); David Coverdale (vcl); Glenn Hughes (bss/vcl); Jon Lord (kbr); Ian Paice (drm).
Bolin steps in on guitar and Deep Purple recorded Come Taste the Band (1975). Hughes and Bolin become very close friends. This line-up didn't work well at all times, however, and they decided to give it in.
